1. What is Children Park Chess?
An outdoor event where you can meet new friends and play a game of chess. Also a place where registered members of Little Chess Mates play.

2. What park are the games held at and at what time?
The parks and times change weekly. Visit our website to get the most up-to-date schedule.

3. When will Little Chess Mates come to my local park?
Email us at mario@littlechessmates.com and tell us where you local park is.

4.Will I be ranked professionally when I play?
We don't use the ELO rating system. We use Little Chess Mates rating system. The games are played to have fun and meet new friends.

5. Is there Adult Park Chess?
Yes. Please email mario@littlechessmates.com for locations and times.

6. I would like private lessons on chess.
If you want private lessons and/or want to join Little Chess Mates email us at mario@littlechessmates.com or join our online chess lessons. Our prices can't be beat online at $5.00 a lesson. Make sure you tell us what level you need: novice, beginners, intermediate, advance, or pro.

7. I want to play but do not want to join Little Chess Mates.
Unfortunately, only members can play. If you don't register and become a member you will not be able to play with us.

8. Can I take lessons at the park?
Yes. Park events are for registered children to come out and have fun.

Lessons will be given at the park only to registered members. Join us to learn, play, and conquer at the park. Park lessons are $80 for 8 one-hour sessions. Find out more by emailing mario@littlechessmates.com

9. What is the cost of chess lessons?
Lessons are $80 dollars for 8 one-hour sessions.
You must be deemed chess ready. Lessons online are $40 dollars for 8 one-hour sessions. Indicate your level.

10. How do I know if my child is chess ready?
The child must be able to:
1. sit independently and have an attention span of 15-30 minutes.
2. have a desire to play and have fun and basic interest in chess.
3. maintain basic control of emotions and have respect for an opponent.
4. understand and follow basic instructions.
5. listen and communicate.

11. What is the cost of joining the Children or Adult Park Chess?
There is no cost to join.

12. How many games can I play at the park with my mates?
As many as you like or can get in. Park chess times will last for about 2 hours on a
Saturday or Sunday from 10am-12pm, 1pm-3pm 3pm-5pm 6:30pm-8:30pm as well as weather permitting.

13. Will the games be recorded and posted?
Yes. All member game results must be submitted to the chess instructor. The results will be posted on our website as soon as we are able. Serious players should be recording their game using chess notations.

14. What piece is known as a HOG?
The answer is a rook. If you can tell us why, contact us at instructors@littlechessmates.com

15. I love chess and like to help? What can I do?
We welcome volunteers to help out with these events. You should be ready to watch over the games as relief for the chess instructors. As well as ensuring that the environment is child-friendly and inappropriate language not used around the children and that parents are not interfering with the games.

16. Who can participate in Children Park Chess?
All registered members of Little Chess Mates are welcome. Parents are encouraged to stay and watch their children play. This is not a drop off event. Parents are responsible for their children while they are at the park.

17. I am looking in your store for something in particular but I don't see it. What can I do?
Email us at mario@littlechessmates.com or call us at 416 885-8142 and we will do our best to help you out. Alternatively, you can reach us in our chat program using you computer mic during 7 pm-8 pm Eastern time or you can call us using Skype during our regular working hours.
Our staff is available to take Instant Message support.

18. Other than your online store do you have a retail store?

Our store is currently online only. We are currently looking for a location to promote our services and sell chess products. Your suggestions on where you like it to be would be welcome. We have staff who will be more than happly to help you choose the right chess set, book, computer software, dvd or other purchases.

19. Do you sell/ship to international customers?
Absolutely we do. Please email mario@littlechessmates.com for shipping quotes.

20. What are the requirements of the instructors?
