Chess Parents
Thank
you parents for supporting Little Chess Mates.
Choosing
chess as an after-school activity for your children will help them
achieve better school grades. The benefits that chess can offer
will contribute to their learning ability.
"If
you can win at chess then nobody can call you stupid. For real?
Ya for real!"--Quote from Knights Of The South Bronx movie
--.
We thank you for becoming chess parents and for volunteering
your time in playing chess with your children!
Please
support
us by visiting our Chess
Store to purchase chess equipment, books, dvds, and other items.
Little
Chess Mates has a few recommendations for parents of our chess participants.
-
Must
play chess with your child at home, even if you are just setting
up the board, and learning the basics of the game.
-
Make
chess fun at home. You are their strongest role model and supporter.
-
Purchase
a personal chess board for their child. Children will do better
and take pride in their learning when they can take ownership
of their own chess board.
-
Be
able to drive them to Children Chess Park and join in on the chess
fun
-
Offer
encouragement before and after each game and have discussions
about what took place and what can be improved next time.
-
Ensure child's well-being is always top priority and that children
are well-rested before each lesson or game.
-
To
encourage calmness under game pressure, concentration, focusing,
and patience.
-
Above
all else, be supportive and a shoulder to lean on especially after
a loss. Display a fresh perspective on the world and remember
that they are only children.
Parents
will be asked to participate in our Giant Chess Game event. Each
parent will be assigned a chess notation to remember.
The
names and notation numbers of our chess parents.
